The Oak at Oversley Green
Situated on the outskirts of Alcester, Warwickshire, near the River Alne, stands a remarkable ancient oak, a relic of the once majestic Forest of Arden. This venerable tree had already witnessed 200-300 years of existence when the Catholic conspirators were plotting to assassinate Protestant King James I during the Gunpowder Plot at the opening of the Houses of Parliament in November 1605.
